A woman has set up a GoFundMe account for her brother, who she says, is the man who was injured during a contruction site incident.
On the morning of Wednesday August 14, a man was hit by a fire extinguisher while working in the elevator shaft of an unfinished construction site located at 70 Gloucester Street. On Sunday, a woman named Nahtanha Oliver came forward, saying that the victim is her 28-year-old brother, Alexander Sametz.
On the account’s page, Oliver gives a detailed list of what she refers to as her brother’s injuries as well as their severity.
According to Oliver, the account was created to help with Sametz's medical care as she believes he will, “need much more help than any assistance program can offer him in the coming weeks and months”.
The Ministry of Labour is aware of the incident, but has yet to confirm any details about it. They have explained that the site is a Claridge Homes project, but would not say if Claridge Homes is Sametz’s employer.
The incident is currently being investigated by a ministry investigator.
