Panda-monium at TD Place as uOttawa holds on to Pedro for the second straight year

Saturday's Panda Game will be one the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees remember, and one that Carleton will be looking to forget.

They outscored the Carleton Ravens 31-0 in the second half en route to a 32-10 victory in the 51st edition of the Panda Game at TD Place.

An announced crowd of 24,626 was a record for the Panda Game, although as per tradition, the seats were only fully filled after halftime.

The Ravens scored the only touchdown of the first half on a Quinton Soares eight-yard reception from Tanner DeJong in the second quarter.

After an interception on the Ravens' one-yard line, Carleton's offence would fumble in the end zone on the very next play. Tramayne Stephen fell on the ball and the Gee-Gees were tied at 10.

Soon after, another fumble led to Francis Perron bringing the ball to the end zone for the second uOttawa defensive touchdown of the game.

The Gee-Gees added two rushing touchdowns late in the fourth to clinch the victory.

Ottawa will lay claim to Pedro for the second straight year, after Carleton had Pedro the Panda for four years prior.

Ottawa is now 4-2 and tied for third in the OUA standings with Guelph and Waterloo. The Ravens are tied for seventh with a 2-4 record. 

The top six teams qualify for the playoffs, with the top two getting first-round byes.
