Limoges Fire Department Christmas video goes viral as they rescue Santa

By Jenn Pritchard

The team at the Limoges Fire Association helped to save Christmas this year!

After Santa got himself stuck in a chimney on Limoges Road, the Fire Department stepped up to lend a hand and get the big man in red out of trouble.

This all plays out in a fun video posted to social media.

This video is partly just for fun but also was a way for the firefighters to say thank you to the community.

The community of Limoges and Municipality of The Nation pitched in to help raise money for the local fire department in 2019.

They raised $30,000 for a brand new side by side, basically a covered ATV, that would make it easier to reach spots deep in the Larose Forest.

“We've been noticing we'd been getting more and more calls into the forest and it was getting more difficult for us to reach them,” explained Station Chief Dan Voisine. “Last year, we had a pretty major snowmobile accident.”

Voisine said the new vehicle also allows them to fight forest fires if they need to and .

“We put it in service in June and it's already done about five or six runs for fires and some rescues,” said Voisine.

The Station Chief said making the video gave his team a chance to laugh and make someone's day a little brighter.

“It's good for the guys because they see a lot of bad things, so it's good for us to do some stuff like that to motivate the guys. To show that even though there's some bad, there's some good.”

Voisine explained that the video was all put together on a training night.

And that Christmas video is making waves, with hundreds of shares and thousands of views.
