A 35-year-old man is facing a few charges related to the sexual assault of a person under 16, after an investigation by the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit in Westboro.
A Child Aid Society (CAS) worker told police that a 15-year-old girl had contacted them on Thursday, advising she was in distress and wanted help.
Police officers then visited a business on Tweedsmuir Avenue at Richmond Road, around 4:15 p.m., and spoke to a man who claimed to be alone. Police soon located the 15-year-old, hiding beside a bed.
Further investigation showed the victim had been at the same building between Tuesday and Thursday.
Michel Levesque, of Ottawa, was charged with:
- Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age
- Sexual interference
- Invitation to sexual touching
He is scheduled to appear in court, Friday.
The investigation continues and SACA investigators are concerned there could be more victims.
