Assault charges laid in Murray Street stabbing

A 42-year-old Ottawa man is facing a few charges, including aggravated assault, after a stabbing on Murray Street in Lowertown.

Ottawa police say a 40-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed on February 15, just before 10 a.m.

Security officers working in the Murray Street area found the victim on Saturday morning, provided first aid and called 911. 

The suspect was no longer in the area when police arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to hospital. 

Investigators were able to identify the suspect and he was arrested on Sunday evening. 

Sayed Abdul Wahab Dadshani has been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possess Weapons Dangerous to public Peace 

Dadshani appeared in court on February 17.
