City of Ottawa extends March deadline for property tax bill

The City of Ottawa is extending the deadline on its interim tax bill until April 15, and is taking other tax measures to help local businesses.

The interim tax bill, which represents 50 per cent of the previous year’s tax bill is usually payable on the third Thursday in March – that would be this Thursday, March 19.

The city's tax department confirmed Wednesday, that it is extending the deadline for local property owners.

Update, March 18, 2:30 p.m.: The city is looking to launch further tax deferral programming to help residents deal with the new economic climate caused by COVID-19.
