Four girls, ranging in age from 14 to 20, are all facing assault-related charges after an incident at a business on Merivale Road in Carlington.

Police say the suspects walked into the business around 7:05 p.m., and when an employee asked them to respect physical distancing rules, they started kicking and punching the woman.

The suspects then allegedly took items from the store and threw them at the employee. One of the four even took the woman’s cell phone and smashed it on the ground.

The employee suffered minor injuries.

The suspects fled the area, but police officers located all four suspects and arrested them without incident.

  • Theft under $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession for the Purpose of selling Cannabis
  • Possession for the Purpose of Distributing Cannabis

Both young offenders were also charged with failing to comply with undertaking.

All four are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
