Two charged in Lowertown assault and kidnapping

Two men are facing charges, including assault causing bodily harm, after a kidnapping incident in Lowertown.
Ottawa police were called to Murray Street at Cumberland Street on Sunday, May 3, around 12:45 a.m., after they say two men had attacked a man, thrown him into a vehicle and drove off.
Officers say the victim jumped out of the vehicle and the suspects began to assault him again.
The victim was eventually taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers were able to track down and arrest two suspects.
Shawn Seguin, 31, of no fixed address and Cameron Scott-Reeves, 35, of Ottawa, have been charged with:
- Kidnapping
- Robbery
- Assaulting Cause Bodily Harm
- Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable offence
Seguin is also charged with possession of a weapon; and Scott Reeves is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Both appeared in court on May 3.
