Queensway Carleton Hospital reports COVID-19 outbreak

Queensway Carleton Hospital is dealing with at least one resident or staff case of COVID-19, according to Ottawa Public Health (OPH).

The public health agency has included the hospital in its institution outbreak report on Tuesday, saying the outbreak is in unit A3.

Meanwhile, outbreaks at City of Ottawa long-term care home Garry J. Armstrong and The Ottawa Hospital's Civic Campus have been resolved.

Overall, OPH is reporting seven more COVID-19-related deaths in the city and 16 new cases on Tuesday. That brings the overall local death toll to 178 and overall number of positive coronavirus cases to 1,692.

For the first time, the city is above the 70 per cent mark (1,187) for overall resolved cases.

There are 22 institutions dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks.
