Five teens arrested for attempted murder, aggravated assault in Vanier

Five youths are facing attempted murder charges after a teen was found seriously injured in the Vanier area.

According to police, the victim was attacked around 5:15 p.m. Saturday on Ethel Street between Baribeau and Hannah streets.

The victim, a teenage boy, was rushed to CHEO where he remains in serious condition. 

Four teenage boys and one teenage girl were arrested. They are charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. 

One of the teens is also charged with breach of a release order. 

All five are expected in court Sunday morning. 

Police say they cannot release further details as the suspects are still being interviewed. All five remain in jail at this time. 

The crime does not appear to be racially motivated, they add.
