Carleton Lodge long term care employee tests positive for novel coronavirus

By OttawaMatters Staff

A city-run long term care home employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee works at Carleton Lodge and was tested on Friday. This is a different employee than the one whose first test was inconclusive last week. A statement from the city said that employee has since tested negative.

City officials say the individual who tested positive for the virus is asymptomatic and is currently in self-isolation at home.

As a result of this positive test, Carleton Lodge is in outbreak status which means residents are in self-isolation and all indoor and outdoor visits have been cancelled.

City-run long term care employees are being tested for the virus twice monthly to stop the spread of COVID-19
