City of Ottawa to open nine cardio and weight rooms next week

The City of Ottawa is set to open nine cardio and weight rooms at city-run facilities August 4, with COVID-19 safety measures in place and limited capacity.
The facilities include the Bob MacQuarrie Recreation Complex, the CARDELREC Recreation Complex, the Greenboro Community Centre, the Heron Road Community Centre, Kanata Leisure Centre and Wave Pool, Plant Recreation Centre, Ray Friel Recreation Complex, the Richcraft Recreation Complex, and the Walter Baker Sports Centre.
Showers, changing rooms and some workout equipment will remain closed. Visitors will need to conduct a health screening and assumption of risk upon arrival.
Each session will be limited to an hour and half, with cleaning and disinfecting taking place after each session.
Visitors will be required to book their timeslot online or over the phone. Clients will be able to reserve a spot online up to two days in advance.
