Aggravated assault charge laid near Pakenham

One person is in hospital and a 36-year-old Arnprior man is facing charges after a serious assault west of Pakenham.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and responded to an incident at a home in Mississippi Mills, shortly after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19.
A 33-year-old woman was found with serious injuries and taken to hospital.
The accused is facing the following charges:
- Aggravated assault-spousal – sec. 268
- Failing to comply with an undertaking – sec. 145(4)(a)
The identity of the accused cannot be released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The accused has been remanded in custody, with an appearance scheduled before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 24.
