Fire crews quickly extinguish fire in Bank Street condo

A condo under renovation in the Glebe has been badly damaged by fire.
Shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday, Ottawa Fire Services responded to a residential unit at 1014 Bank Street, across from Lansdowne Park.
A passerby had called 911 to report smoke and flames coming from a corner unit on the third floor of the six-storey building.
Firefighters forced open the locked door and quickly doused the blaze, keeping it contained to the one unit.
The unit was empty at the time and there were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
