67-year-old Lowertown man charged with child luring

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has charged a man with child luring after a tip it received from the Gatineau Police Service.

According to the OPS Child Exploitation Unit (ICE), Gatineau Police believed there was a resident in Ottawa engaging in explicit sexual communications and the luring of a 15-year-old.

An investigation was opened. 

Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Lowertown on Wednesday and seized digital devices belonging to the suspect. 

As a result, Garry Dorie, 67, of Ottawa, was charged with luring a person under the age of 16 by means of telecommunications. 

He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
