Pinecrest Recreation Complex employee tests positive for COVID-19

By Mike Vlasveld

The City of Ottawa is working with Ottawa Public Health (OPH) to conduct contact tracing after one of its employees at the Pinecrest Recreation Complex tested positive for COVID-19.

It says the employee was last at work on September 26, and was asymptomatic at the time.

The city says the employee called into work after learning that a family member had tested positive for the virus. They then went for a COVID-19 test on September 28, and a positive result was confirmed on Thursday, October 1.

The individual continues to self-isolate at home.

The Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services department says it continues to follow enhanced daily cleaning protocols at each of its facilities.

If customers have concerns of exposure, they can contact Ottawa Public Health at 613-580-6744 to speak to a public health nurse or visit ottawapublichealth.ca.
