Gatineau’s Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Centre remains open following positive COVID-19 of employee

The City of Gatineau is letting residents know of a new positive COVID-19 test among one of its employees who works at a recreational centre.
The employee works at the Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Centre off of Aylmer Street near Samuel-Edey Street in the city’s east end.
The City says the employee tested positive on October 8, but last worked on October 5.
As soon as the City of Gatineau knew, the City opted to go beyond the recommendations of the Direction de la santé publique de l’Outouais and performed a deep clean of the facility.
The employee is currently self-isolating.
The City of Gatineau says the sanitary measures implemented and that were respected by all employees has allowed the centre to remain open.
