Tuesday predicted to be Ottawa’s warmest November day on record

By OttawaMatters Staff

As the capital continues to bask in unseasonably warm temperatures, 1310 NEWS Meteorologist Jill Taylor says Tuesday could be the warmest November day Ottawa's ever seen.

The warmest November temperature on record is 23.9 degrees Celsius (C), which happened back on November 6, 1938.

The guaranteed high for Tuesday is 23 C, however, Taylor thinks it could reach 24.

Despite rain in the forecast for Wednesday, the tempature is expected to hit 19 C, surpassing Ottawa's daily Remembrance Day record high of 16.5 C, from November 11, 2002.

“What a stretch this has been, seven or eight days in some cases of unprecedented heat,” says Taylor. “Cool-downs are on the way.”

The weather is expected to be back to normal by the weekend with tempatures near 0 C on Saturday and Sunday.
