’Tis the season for cops to be out on the road to ensure everyone's safety around the holidays.

Ottawa police officers were out on the roads Saturday night conducting RIDE checks.

The one-night sweep resulted in contact with almost 400 drivers for impaired driving, according to a OPS tweet, one three-day suspensions for being in the warn range was issued along with 11 Highway Traffic Act warnings and charge.

The Ottawa Police Service says the RIDE checks allows the service to remind drivers that they are always on the lookout for impaired driving on Ottawa’s roads.
