Quebec police take over Eddy Street murder investigation given possible link to organized crime

By Mike Vlasveld

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is now investigating the murder of Ryan Bracken in Gatineau, as it's believed there could be a link to organized crime.

The 31-year-old was found unconscious at 187 Eddy Street on December 11, and was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Gatineau police transferred the case to the Quebec provincial police branch on December 18, as the SQ has more resources to dedicate to this type of case.

In order to ensure continuity in the case, the SQ says a team of investigators from the Gatineau service will continue to be involved, full time, in the investigation.

Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to contact the SQ Central Criminal Information Center at 1 800-659-4264.
