Man charged after driving wrong way on Highway 417 near Hunt Club, causing crash

An Ottawa driver has been charged after their vehicle was going the wrong way on Highway 417 and involved in a crash.
On December 26, shortly before 1 a.m., officers with the OPP Ottawa detachment responded to a two vehicle head-on collision on the 417 eastbound lanes near Hunt Club Road.
Two people from each vehicle were transported to hospital by Ottawa Paramedics with varying degrees of injuries, none of which were considered life-threatening.
The investigation determined that one of the vehicles had entered the eastbound lanes at Hunt Club, travelling west.
Adewale Aromolaran, 32, of Ottawa was then charged with:
- Operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired, alcohol and drugs
The accused is scheduled to appear in an Ottawa courtroom on January 12.
