Ottawa Hospital’s transition opens at Civic Campus

The Offload Medicine Transition Unit at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) Civic Campus is now open for patient care.
The hospital says the 40-bed temporary unit, announced in late 2020, will allow the hospital to create additional capacity, and ensure patients receive the care they need.
It is also expected to decrease wait times for patients in the Emergency Departments, as well as reduce ambulance offload times, and allow TOH's paramedic partners to return to the community quickly.
The transition unit is a project in collaboration with the Ontario Ministry of Health. It is located in the east parking lot of TOH's Civic Campus
