Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is once again out with a plea to residents to follow COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
In a series of tweets, the health authority says the novel coronavirus in the capital is trending at its highest level since the pandemic began in March 2020.
Ottawa Public Health describes the current situation as a crisis — a term OPH says they don't use lightly. They add that our local healthcare system is nearing capacity.
OPH acknowledges that it can be upsetting asking you to stay home and cancel plans with friends and family while watching some Canadian officials travel for the holidays. They add that while we may not have control over that, we do have control over our situation.
or extended family? Please cancel. Say you're washing your hair, or your mask. Watch @SchittsCreek instead.
We know you're tired & many of you are understandably angry. Watching some officials travel while we stayed home was indeed very upsetting. It definitely upset us (4/11)

Even though the message is serious, they end their Twitter thread on a lighter note, 'Hindsight is 2020, but 2020 sucked.'
