Aggravated assault among charges laid in stabbing at Ottawa Salvation Army

A 33-year-old man is facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault and assault with a weapon, after a stabbing at the Salvation Army on George Street in Ottawa.
Officers responded to the incident on Wednesday, January 27, around 8:50 p.m.
Officers say a man, armed with a knife, walked into the shelter and stabbed four people. All four people suffered serious but non- life-threatening injuries.
The victims are staff members and clients of the Salvation Army.
Responding officers were able to track down and arrest the suspect at the scene.
David Breau, of no fixed address, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault (four counts)
- Assault with a weapon (four counts)
- Possession of weapon for the purpose of committing an offence
- Breach of Probation (two counts)
- Fail to Comply with a release order
He is scheduled to appear in court, Thursday.
