UPDATE: Gatineau police investigating first homicide of 2021

In an afternoon update, Gatineau police say they have arrested a man in the homicide that happened on Promenade Wychwood in Aylmer's sector of Gatineau.
Luk Deslauriers-Forest, 37, was the man arrested at a residence on Promenade Wychwood Sunday night.
He is facing a second-degree murder charge.
Deslauriers-Forest appeared before the Quebec court by telephone earlier on Monday.
He is still in hospital for treatment and remains in custody.
An autopsy will be performed on the 60-year-old man Tuesday in Montreal.
The investigation and analysis of the scene continues.
Police say this is an isolated incident involving two people who resided at the same residence, and there is no danger to the public.
No further information will be given at this time so as not to interfere with the ongoing judicial process.

Gatineau police are investigating the city’s first homicide of the year that happened in the city's west end
According to police, they were called to Promenade Wychwood in the Aylmer area regarding an altercation at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday.
When they arrived, they found two individuals — both were injured, but one more seriously than the other.
They were quickly taken to the Hull hospital for treatment.
One of the involved, a man in his 60s, died of his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The other individual, a man in his 30s, is still in hospital. He is currently being held there for purposes of the investigation.
A team from the forensic science and forensic pathology lab in Quebec will travel to the scene of the incident Monday to conduct a full analysis of the scene.
The investigation continues to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
