St. Albert Cheese Cooperative reopens following positive COVID-19 cases

By Dani-Elle Dubé

After three confirmed COVID-19 cases among employees at the St. Albert Cheese Cooperative, the factory has reopened its factory store.

The cooperative announced the opening on its website, saying patrons will be able to once again buy cheese products starting Saturday, February 27.

During this reopening, however, fresh curds or blocks will not be available.

“We continue to take all possible measures at our disposal, in order to keep our staff and customers safe,” the note said.

St. Albert’s Cheese in St. Albert, Ont. confirmed three cases of the virus among its employees last week.

All employees at the facility were tested  in order to reduce the spread.

The factory, itself, will stay closed for another few days as the business waits for the COVID-19 results of the remaining employees and re-evaluates the situation.
