Charges laid in parking lot shooting near St. Laurent Shopping Centre

A 22-year-old Ottawa man is facing a list of weapon-related charges after a shooting in a parking lot near the St. Laurent Shopping Centre.

Police say a man was seen shooting a gun from a vehicle, at other vehicles in a parking lot, on April 3, around 5:45 p.m. 

Officers say no one was injured in the incident. 

As part of the ongoing investigation, a search warrant was executed Friday, April 23, on Hannah Street, north of Montreal Road in Vanier.

Fabrice Ricourt-Casseus was arrested on scene and charged with:

  • Pointing a firearm 
  • Occupy a motor vehicle with firearm 
  • Possess a weapon for committing an offence 
  • Discharging a firearm being reckless as to life or safety of another person 
  • Handle a firearm carelessly 
  • Possess a prohibited firearm without holding a licence 
  • Possess a loaded regulated firearm
  • Possess a firearm while prohibited

Ricourt-Casseus is schedule to appear in court on Friday.
