Community health centre administering vaccines door-to-door in Centretown

By Mike Vlasveld

The Centretown Community Health Centre is delivering COVID-19 vaccines to vulnerable residents who face barriers keeping them from getting to a local clinic or pharmacy.

Not everyone has Internet access or a phone to make an appointment, or transportation, says the centre on Twitter.

“For some residents of disproportionately impacted communities, our airplane model vaccinates residents at their door,” writes the centre.

The City of Ottawa has administered 96 per cent of the 391,930 COVID-19 vaccines its received to date. More than 46 per cent of all eligible adults over the age of 18 have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in Ottawa.
