With a brand new donation of over 1-million disposable masks, the city is making plans to distribute them to community health centres around the city.

According to a memo to city council from Donna Gray, general manager of community and social services, on Wednesday, 1.1-million masks were donated by Sunrise Group — a residential commercial and mixed-use developer in Ottawa.

Those masks are expected to be handed out through the Ride Rockcliffe Gifts In-Kind program to 13 community health centres.

To date, more than 1.6-million disposable masks, and 169,500 cloth masks, have been donated to the city’s Human Needs Task Force and distributed.
