An upcoming vote by Perth town councillors may cancel the town's Canada Day fireworks display for a second straight year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A recommendation to cancel the fireworks was made after council determined the town would not be able to control the number of people gathering to watch the display.
Several councillors have expressed their disappointment in having to cancel again, this year. Some would like the town to delay the fireworks until later in the year, if possible.
The final vote on whether to cancel will be on May 25.
