A 19-year-old has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder and armed assault after an incident in Aylmer.
According to Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG), this is the third arrest made in an investigation about a stabbing that took place shortly after 3 p.m. on Friday, May 7, on Boulevard d'Amsterdam.
Police say the victim was brought to the hospital in serious condition, but has since recovered and been released.
According to officers, the series of events began because of a viral video trend called the 'Cheese Challenge,' where a person throws a slice of processed cheese, usually on the face of a baby or animal.
In this situation, the SPVG say the cheese slice was thrown on the car windshield of the accused.
Boubacar Balde, 19, appeared in a Quebec court on Thursday, May 20, and remains in custody.
