Great Glebe Garage Sale participants encouraged to start putting items online

The Great Glebe Garage Sale is once again going virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual event, where one person's trash is another person's treasure, hits the Internet next week but residents planning on selling items can launch their online stores, Friday, May 28.

Proceeds from every sale will be going to the the Ottawa Food Bank and sellers get a charitable tax receipt for the purchase amounts.

Anyone who wants to participate but doesn't have items to sell can donate gift certificates from their favourite Glebe merchants, according to the Glebe Business Improvement Association.

Buyers can start making offers on items for sale on June 4. The online garage sale runs until June 18.
