A recording breaking CHEO telethon raised almost $11-million for the children's charity.
The previous record of $10.6-million set in 2018 was broken this year with a whopping $10.9-million in donations.
President and CEO of CHEO, Alex Munter tweeted his gratitude to the community.
So much emotion here at @CHEO tonight. An all-time #CHEOtelethon record of $10.9M is a beautiful reminder of just how much our community cares about kids+families. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! pic.twitter.com/0LHeErH1lT

The CHEO Foundation said, “together we are giving the children a chance to grow, heal and just be kids.”
The final donation tally was $10,911,926.
The campaign took place virtually for two weeks through the pediatric health and research centre’s website.
Last year, the telethon raised over $7.3-million for CHEO. In 2019, before the pandemic, the hospital was able to raise $9.7-million; and in 2018 $10.6-million.
