Manslaughter charge laid in Vanier assault after victim dies

A 37-year-old Ottawa man is now facing one count of manslaughter after the victim of an assault succumbed to his injuries.

Ottawa police officers were called to Carillon Street in Vanier, between Hannah Street and Baribeau Street, around 5 a.m. on May 4, for a man who had been found unresponsive. 

Mikael Arjani, 34, had to be hospitalized and on Wednesday, June 9, police say he passed away.
     
William Brown had originally been charged with aggravated assault and now stands charged with manslaughter.
