Police investigate east end shooting

Ottawa police’s Guns and Gangs Unit are investigating a shooting that happened in Chapel Hill that left one victim with a gunshot wound.

Police say the shooting happened at about 5 p.m. on Saturday in the 1000 block of Ashmont Street, near Orleans Boulevard and Meadowglen Drive.

A single victim sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Investigators believe that the incident was targeted and that there is no imminent risk to the public.
