Another man was also seriously injured in the incident. His identity has not been released, but police say he is also 18 years old.

The second man, who was originally confirmed to have serious life-threatening injuries by paramedics, has now been released from hospital.

Police were called to the scene Tuesday at about 8:20 p.m. where they found the two men.

Both were transported to the trauma centre, however, Tansia's vital signs were absent while on route.

Tansia succumbed to his injuries Wednesday morning in hospital.

This was the second shooting in Ottawa in just 24 hours.
