Ottawa-Carleton school board mandates COVID-19 vaccination for staff, volunteers

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) has made its decision on mandatory staff vaccinations against the novel coronavirus.
Individuals associated with the OCDSB's schools, like coaches, volunteers and administrative staff, must now be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by September 30.
The public school board held a special committee of the whole meeting on Tuesday, August 31, to deal with several issues for the upcoming school year. This comes after a special meeting last week with board members and Ottawa Public Health (OPH).
Kindergartners will also be required to wear masks throughout school days.
The first day of classes at OCDSB schools is Thursday, September 9.
