Extrication needed after serious rollover collision on Kinburn Side Road

One person is in hospital after a vehicle rolled on Kinburn Side Road in west Ottawa.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) received a call from the Ottawa Police Service at 9:31a.m., Tuesday, September 7, reporting a serious incident on the road. 

Dispatchers mapped the 911 caller using their GPS location to identify the best location to send emergency crews. 

Firefighters arrived on location at 9:41 a.m. and confirmed two patients; one patient was outside the vehicle and one would need to be extricated. 

The vehicle was on its roof in a field and the patient was trapped inside. 

By 10:05 a.m. firefighters had successfully extricated the patient and transferred them into the care of Ottawa paramedics. Another fire crew helped secure a landing zone for an ORNGE air ambulance.
