One man seriously injured in shooting near Ottawa airport

An early morning shooting near the Ottawa International Airport has sent one person to hospital with serious injuries.

Around 2:15 a.m. on Friday, September 10, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) responded to a call about a collision near the intersection of Lester Road and Albion Road. Once on scene, officers located a 29-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.

The victim was taken to hospital by Ottawa paramedics, and he is now in stable condition.

Police have closed Lester Road between Bank Street and Alert Road, while Albion Road South is closed between Queensdale Avenue and Leitrim Road for the investigation.

Motorists in that area are advised to leave a little extra time for the commute.

Investigators with the OPS Guns and Gangs Unit would like to speak to anyone who has information on this incident, including anyone who may have dashcam or security footage.
