An Ottawa woman is pleading for the safe return of her dog after she believes someone took the animal out of her parked car while she was at a Westboro grocery store.
Charlotte Hanington says her dog Ellie was in her car with the window slightly down in the Real Canadian Superstore parking lot on Richmond Road on Sunday, September 26, but when Hanington returned to her vehicle, Ellie was nowhere to be found.
She tells CityNews' The Sam Laprade Show on Wednesday,September 29, a reward is being offered for the safe return of her dog.
“I'm really relying on the community at this point. It's now been four days. I have a $500 reward for her safe return. I'm not looking to place any charges or anything, I just want her to come home,” explains Hanington.
Ellie is a black and tan, toy Manchester Terrier with pointy ears, and should be wearing a blue harness.
Anyone with information on where the dog might be is asked to contact Ottawa bylaw at 311, the Ottawa Humane Society or Hanington at BringEllieHome@gmail.com.
