The Nepean Sportsplex will be the site of a new COVID-19 vaccination clinic in the city that will open this weekend.
The clinic comes as a result of a partnership between Ottawa-area hospital and Ottawa Public Health (OPH). It will provide first, second and third/booster doses to those who are eligible, as well as for eligible children.
“As they have throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals in the area are working together to help keep the community safe. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective at reducing the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death,” the announcement sent out by The Ottawa Hospital on Friday, December 17, said.
The doors for the new cliic will open on Saturday, December 18.
The hospital said residents should continue to follow OPH on social media for availability dates and pending capacity.
Appointments can be booked through the provincial booking system.
“Together, we can dramatically increase the number of vaccinations we can offer each day to the entire community of Ottawa, hospital staff teams and their eligible loved ones,” the announcement continued.
