Friends and colleagues of Chad Milner are hoping to raise $15,000 to help him pay physiotherapy and rehabilitation bills after a workplace accident in which he could have died.
Milner works with a construction team that does home renovations, and on Tuesday, January 4, he was moving a large mirror when it broke and the pieces cut his upper arm, severing his brachial artery.
His friend Clint Woodcock launched a GoFundMe page on Friday, which has raised more than $8,000 as of Monday afternoon.
Milner is in his 30s and lives alone, but has three kids.
Woodcock says Milner doesn't have health benefits and OHIP coverage is negligible, so much of his physio and rehab costs will come out of his own pocket.
“For those of you who know Chad, you know how hard, dedicated and generous of a worker he is,” writes Woodcock. “He really needs your help at this time.”
