By CityNews Ottawa

Two library branches will be closed this weekend because of road closures during the convoy protest.

Ottawa Public Libraries says its Main branch on Metcalfe Street and the Rideau branch on Rideau Street will be closed on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30 due to nearby road closures.

It plans to re-open both branches on Monday, January 31.

During the closure, library services will be available online via the library's website and virtual branch, as well as at nearby St-Laurent, Vanier, Sunnyside and Rosemount branches.

Expiry dates for holds items and due dates for material borrowed at Main and Rideau branches have been extended accordingly to Monday, January 31.
