Four people arrested in Beaconwood drug trafficking bust

After a month-long undercover investigation, Ottawa police have made four arrests in relation to drug trafficking in the city’s east end.

Ottawa Police said a search warrant was obtained and executed on Wednesday, February 2 at a residence in Beaconwood, as well as for a vehicle.

Two handguns and ammunition, as well as a quantity of drugs — including cocaine, crack cocaine and hydrocodone — scales, mobile devices, packaging materials and Canadian currency, were all seized.

As a result, three men and one woman were arrested in connection to the investigation.

They are:

  • Calvin Leger, 21, of Ottawa
  • Trisha Leger, 42, of Ottawa
  • Mohamud Abulkadir, 27, of Ottawa
  • Mobarek Abdulkadir, 25, of Ottaa

The accused appeared in court on Tuesday for charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime and numerous firearms offences.
