North Stormont man charged in historical sexual assault investigation

Charges have been laid in connection with a historic sexual assault investigation in North Stormont.
On Monday, January 24, the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police began an investigation into an allegation made by a woman.
Following the investigation, a 29-year-man from North Stormont has now been arrested and faces the following charges:
- Sexual assault
- Forcible confinement
Police say the man will not be named in order to protect the identity of the victim, adding that there's no threat to public safety.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court in Cornwall on Tuesday, March 29.
