Ottawa’s State of Emergency lifted

Ottawa's State of Emergency has come to its end.
As of 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, Mayor Jim Watson officially lifted the State of Emergency, he announced via his Twitter.
The State of Emergency was declare on February 6 in response to the truck convoy protest, which Watson referred to as a “serious danger and threat to the safety and security of residents.”

On Wednesday, Ontario lifted its State of Emergency just as the federal government rescinded the Emergencies Act, both of which were a response to the ongoing truck convoy demonstrations in the city, and across the province and Canada.
