Two men in their 30s dead after two-vehicle collision in Hunt Club late Saturday

Two men are dead after a car crash in Hunt Club late Saturday night.

Ottawa paramedics confirmed to CityNews that two men in their 30s were killed in the two-vehicle collision on Hunt Club Road and Malak Street.

One other person was assessed on location but not transported to hospital.

It’s not clear what caused the car crash, which occurred around 11:08 p.m. on Saturday, February 26.

After the collision two occupants became trapped in one of the vehicles, Ottawa Police Services said in an email release late Saturday. 

Firefighters were called to the scene to help pull the occupants out of the vehicle using special equipment. The first occupant was pulled out around 11:18 p.m. and the second, five minutes later.

The portion of Hunt Club Road between Conroy Road and Esson Street was closed to traffic in both directions for several hours following the crash. It reopened around 8:40 a.m. Sunday.

Police are investigating. Anyone who witnessed the accident is being asked to contact the force’s collision investigation unit.
