Arrest made during otherwise peaceful ‘Rolling Thunder’ motorcade rally
Motorcycles part of the “Rolling Thunder” convoy rolled through Ottawa streets Saturday, mostly without incident, although an arrest was made.
According to Ottawa police, a person was arrested following an incident on Elgin Street on Saturday, April 30.

Police did not release further details but said the investigation is ongoing.
OPS also tweeted that person was arrested for breaching their release conditions, however, it is not clear if this is the same arrest or a second.

Events of the day started at 11 a.m. at the National War Memorial, where the crowd gathered peacefully as ceremonies were underway.
The speaker at the event told those with “vulgar and anti-Trudeau” messages to distance themselves from the group.
As the motorcycle rally drove through Ottawa, they did so in a controlled route.

Police were on scene to ensure public safety.

As of Saturday morning, Ottawa paramedics have not responded to any injuries.

The rally concluded shortly before noon, and police have been working to reopen roads in the area.
According to the schedule posted to the Rolling Thunder website, an FFC rally and march will start on Parliament Hill with guest Chris Sky at 2 p.m.
