Ottawa Senators fans won’t like the news coming out of the World Hockey Championship on Monday.

During a game against France, German forward Tim Stützle took a hit in the corner from defenceman Thomas Thiry and then limped off the ice, favouring his left leg.

As he is left the ice Stützle slashed at French player Pierre Crinon, drawing a penalty. According to several reports, Stützle did not return to the game.

The 20-year-old had a breakout second season with the Senators, scoring 22 goals and 58 points in 79 games. He had two assists in two games for Germany before his injury.
