Third suspect arrested in double homicide of brothers at Alta Vista Shopping Centre

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has arrested a third suspect in connection to a double murder that took place at an Ottawa shopping centre last year.
On May 28, 2021, Abdulaziz Abdullah and Mohamed Abdullah were killed in a shooting at the Alta Vista Shopping Centre, while a third victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Ahmed Siyad was wanted a Canada wide warrant, and has been located and charged by police officers in Regina. He will appear in court later today, and he is charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.
In February of this year, the OPS arrested Abdullahi Osman in relation to the killings. He was captured in the Peel Region and transferred to Ottawa on first-degree murder charges.
The next month, in March, Yusuf Hussein surrendered to police. He faces charges of accessory after the fact to murder, transfer of an identity document and procuring a passport by false statement.
Another man, Mohamed Shire of Toronto, is still wanted on first degree murder charges and there is a Canada wide warrant for his arrest.
